Visakhapatnam: The deputy commissioner at the office of the chief commissioner of central Goods and Services Tax and customs, Visakhapatnam Zone, N Srujan Kumar, said, they are conducting a special refund fortnight till June 14.
“During the special drive, customs, central tax and state tax officials will strive to clear all GST refund applications filed on or before April 30.
Customs officers will process refund of IGST (Integrated Goods and Services Tax) paid on exports, while central tax and state tax officers will process refund of unutilized ITC (Input Tax Credit) and all other GST refunds submitted online in Form GST RFD-01A,” said Kumar.
He further said, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is implementing a solution whereby the refunds held in Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), in cases where the exporters have mistakenly declared their export supplies as domestic supplies, would now be transmitted to customs EDI system.
Addressing the media, Kumar revealed that on receipt of the records from GSTN, the customs system would automatically process the refund for sanction, only if no other errors are committed by exporters. All claimants may note that the refund application in Form GST RFD-01A will not be processed unless a copy of the application, along with all supporting documents, is submitted to the jurisdictional tax office. Mere online submission is not sufficient,” warned Srujan Kumar.
