The GST intelligence in Bhopal has detected over Rs 17 crore tax evasion by a major cement manufacturer and arrested one of the directors. Multiple searched have been conducted in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh from August 5 to August 11 at various premises belonging to the cement manufacturer. Bhopal Zonal Unit has issued a statement in which it has said that substantial quantity of cement and clinker have been supplied clandestinely without making payment of taxes. The officials have also recovered cash transaction private records revealing unaccounted cash credit of more than Rs 7.5 crore for few months period in the year 2018.
