Two officials from Union Government has said that Centre might bring natural gas within GST ambit. The ministry of petroleum and natural gas (MoPNG) has proposed to bring natural gas under GST to have a uniform tax rate across the country. The officials have said that  gas transportation and state-specific value added tax make natural gas costlier.
