In a recent Budget, the Finance Ministry had taken away the requirement of GST Audits by Chartered Accounts. Consequently, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India had asked the FM to restore the mandatory requirement of getting the annual account audited for specified professionals with respect to goods and services tax. Atul Kumar Gupta, President, ICAI said that it is because of CAs that that thousands of crores of rupees collected in tax (GST)
