HUL, Colgate among Nomura’s top picks in case of GST slab rejig

GST Council will consider the proposal of merging 12% into 18% slab rate in next Council meeting. According to Analysts GST rate reduction will benefit the organised companies. All companies like Hindustan Unilever, Colgate and Britannia being the top beneficiaries will get benefit from this. Any increase in this rate will be a marginal negative for Nestle and Dabur, which may pass on the tax increase by taking price hikes. Nomura further said that  only  tractors is the only category with a GST rate of 12 per cent and if rates are increased then this would lead to increase in tractor prices.
