Senior intelligence officer of Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), Rakesh Bhargava, Ludhiana zonal unit had been nominated for the prestigious President’s medal for specially distinguished record of service. As per a notification issued by Department of Revenue, Government of India,Bhargava was awarded on the eve of Republic Day.
Rakesh Bhargava has played prominent role in detection of Central Excise/Service Tax/ GST cases involving revenue of more than Rs 200 crore in DGGI and recovered Rs 100 crore of revenue.He also played a vital role in cracking the biggest fraud of issuing fake invoices by iron & steel traders and arrested three masterminds involved in the scam.
