Five cotton firm owners booked for Rs 18.57 crore GST fraud in Hisar

Police have booked five cotton industry owners for allegedly causing loss of revenue of Rs 18.57 crore to the state through fraudulent disposal of tax liabilities without actual payment of input tax credit of the GST in the name of some fake companies. Investigations have been started but no accused has been arrested so far.

A case has been registered under Section 420 of the IPC against Parveen Mehta, proprietor of M/s Krishan Cotton Industries, on a complaint of Mahavir Godara, excise and taxation officer of Hisar,who has stated that the above accused had disposed tax liabilities with the help of a fake company and claiming input tax credit fraudulently, which caused loss of revenue to the state totalling Rs 2.39 crore. Ankush, proprietor of M/S Ankush Cotton & Ginning at Durjanpur village has been booked on the complaint of Godara for using the same modus operandi and causing loss of revenue to the state totalling Rs 2.15 crore. Kamal Kumar, Sanjay Kumar and Manoj Kumar, all proprietors of M/s Ganpati Industries, situated at Fransi village of Hisar have been booked for causing losses of Rs 1.53 crore to the state revenue. On the complaint of Mahavir Singh, excise and taxation officer of Hisar, a case has been registered against Sonu, proprietor of M/s Vishal Industries of Adampur, for causing revenue loss of Rs 2.89 crore to the state and Vakil Chand, proprietors of M/s Aggarwal Cotton Industries of Adampur for causing losses of Rs 9.60 crore to the state revenue.
