For expeditious disposal of GST Appeals, CBIC has asked its GST field officers to conduct hearings through video conferencing. In April, CBIC issued guidelines for conducting video conferencing in matters of Customs Act, Service Tax and excise tax. In response to which, CBIC has receive feedback that such video conferencing had helped in speeding up passing of adjudication and appellate proceedings, saving cost of travel and time, and critically ensuring social distancing in these challenging times.
