The Union has debited sum of Rs 1,417.50 crore from Jharkhand’s consolidated account which is maintained by RBI. This deduction has been made on account of its central power generator Damodar Valley Corporation’s (DVC) dues. The Union has invoked tripartite agreement it signed with the Jharkhand government and RBI on April 27, 2017.Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Said that Centre is unable to pay the GST Compensation and now it has debited money from the state’s consolidated fund. “This act is an attack on the federal structure,” Soren added.
