Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has applauded the GST Council’s decision, while crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi who mooted the proposal, of keeping small companies with turnover of less than Rs 40 lakh out of the ambit of goods and services tax. He said that this decision will help the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to generate more employment opportunities, while also praising  the decision of increasing  the composition limit of traders from existing Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.50 crore

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh’s Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal said that the decision of exempting singhara(water chestnut)and handmade soap from GST will help poor people and local artisans.
