According to fan manufacturers, demand has increased due to fear that COVID-19 might spread through Air Conditioned or less ventilated spaces. According to the Indian Fan Manufacturers Association (IFMA), the demand for table and pedestial fans usually account for 18 to 20 percent and in peak summer increases to 25 percent. However, now also the demand is on rise. The Chairman of IFMA, Atul Jain, said that GST at 18% is impacting the industry adversely and supply chain also.
