The aviation had received a relief gasping for survival in the Covid-19 era. The Finance Minister had announced to make India a hub for Maintenance and Repair Overhaul (MRO) for aircraft. D AnandBhaskar, CEO of Air Works had said that presently, we have only 1% of the global MRO industry share. With the announcement for making India a hub, it means the engine, as well as the components, can be overhauled here once the infrastructure is in place. This step can create huge employment in India. Another announcement in this sector had also been made by lowering the rate of GST. The GST for the domestic sector of MRO has been slashed from 18% to 5% and the doing away with the 10% GST on international components.
