Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said on Wednesday while addressing students at Shri Ram College of Commerce that the country was heading towards another “listless” year in terms of economic growth. He also said that Demonetisation, flawed GST and putting the squeeze on banks were the major errors committed by government. He further asked that if the central government has Plan B ready if there arises any problem like in the Middle East, a war or a trade war between the US and China. “The growth rate has declined for the last six quarters. If the 7th quarter also shows decline then it means that the slide persists and we are yet to see light at the end of the tunnel, we are still in the tunnel,” he said. He had also criticised Budget announced by government.
