The Karnataka Commercial Taxes Department had conducted various raids in June and July onundeclared warehouses of tobacco and pan masala products. The Department had levied GST and imposed penalty of Rs 2.43 crore in 59 cases. The department has been keeping an eye on the transportation of pan masala and other tobacco products. Stringent action has been recommended such as cancellation of registration of goods vehicles used for such transportation.
