To improve tax compliance and revenue collections, Central and State officials on Friday examined GST rules. The meeting was chaired by union finance secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey examined proposals such as imposing curbs on new taxpayers passing on tax credits and implementing standard operating procedures for spot verification of risky taxpayers and for blocking and unblocking of credits for taxes paid on raw materials and services. “It was stressed that ownership for delivery and satisfactory performance of GST portal lies specifically upon Infosys and they should meet the expectation, said the statement.
