GST frauds from Rourkela were emerging on regular basis and now tax evasion cases from other areas  within the state are coming into light. Bigyan Swain of Pitamberpur in Paradip  has been served with notice for Rs 10 crore tax fraud. It is alleged that he had opened a fake company named Urja Steel. In another case, a vegetable vendor has been served with notice for GST fraud amounting Rs.100 Crore. However, he said that he had no idea about such transactions. Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) Debashis Sahoo said, “We have detected over 50 such instances in around one month which amounts to a tax fraud of more than Rs 1100 crore.”
