A Kanpur transporter who was arrested for evading GST amounting Rs.9.4crore has been denied grant of bail by session court. The transporter had sought bail on the ground that GST Department had arrested him instead of another person in the same business as his. He also said that department is not arresting others whose names have been revealed. The department had alleged that the transporter has huge turnover from fake firms in his name. Basis this, the court has rejected the bail application on account of preliminary stage of investigation.
