A recent survey by India SME Forum revealed that MSMEs in India created 2.46 lakh more jobs after the implementation of demonetisation and GST
The data also showed that those who were retrenched were hired back by the MSMEs as the negative after effects of demonetisation and GST were found to be short-lived.
As per the survey India SME Forum, 62 percent of surveyed MSMEs said that GST was the single biggest reform or that it made running a business easier and only nine percent said that more work was needed to implement GST. Â Data also revealed that 28 percent of MSMEs believed that GST was responsible for MSMEs going out of business or that GST made business tougher. The survey was conducted from October 2018 to December 2018, across 23 states, with 37,680 respondents.
