Punjab is still short by 43% to meet its annual target of over Rs 15,858 crore collection. Out of total of around Rs 4,000 crore, the Centre has released Rs 1,385.96 crore to the Punjab government this month. It is permitted to Punjab government to additionally borrow 0.5% of its state gross domestic product (SGDP). The overall VAT and CST collections have been Rs 3,802 crore from April to November, an increase of 4.90 per cent compared to the corresponding period of 2019
