The Finance Secretary has said that GST collections for the month of April would only emerge by June 30. The government had released the GST revenue mop up numbers on the basis of collections in a particular month. Hence, the collection in April was due to be released on May 1. After giving extensions in filing of returns, the true picture of revenue collection can be seen. According to experts, GST mop up in May would mainly come from sectors like telecom, FMCG, food processing and pharma.
