Crackdown works, GST collection in MP 7.3% higher than last year’s

The state of Madhya Pradesh has popped up on top of the list with 7.3% growth in June-August period over the last year. The state has taken major action on tax evaders- especially on manufacturers of cigarettes, tobacco, cement, and distilleries. In the 2019-20 fiscal, MP collected Rs 28,354 crore in GST revenue,which included over Rs 6,748 between June and August. Madhya Pradesh is followed by Chhattisgarh at 6.8%. GST revenue of Delhi has dropped by 22.4%.
