The Finance Minister had said that Attorney General’s views on GST compensation were taken after consultation with the states. She had also said that soon GST council meeting would be held to discuss the legal opinion. The GST compensation had become an issue during the COVID-19 period since revenues dwindled. The Centre had released over Rs 1.65 lakh crore in 2019-20 as compensation.
