The apex body of the temporary workers had demanded reduction in GST rates. It had asked the Union government to categorise its services as ‘Merit Services’ and therefore reduce the GST on such services to 5% from 18% currently with immediate effect. As per Indian Staffing Federation, the staffing industry contributes to the economic growth and societal development of the nation and it includes large number of workforce.
