According to sources, the telecom companies Reliance Jio,InfocommBhartiAirtel, and Vodafone Idea have approached the government. They had raised a demand seeking refund of unutilized input tax credit under GST or soft loans against the fund to help them tide over the liquidity issues due to the ongoing lockdown. The Reliance Jio had pending ITC Refund of Rs.18,000 Crore, while BhartiAirtel and Vodafone Idea have pending Rs 10,000 crore and Rs 7,000 respectively.
