Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar had urged to the Finance Minister to consider reducing GST rate of consumer durables and other FMCG appliances to drive consumer demand. He had suggested a scheme where GST rates can be reduced by 50% approximately. According to him, this can help the MSMEs to flourish. He had also recommended to give GST refunds and also to cut GST on capital goods as well as services and drive consumption.
