Chief minister BS Yediyurappa has again put efforts with the Centre to review imposition of GST cess on hybrid vehicles. The CM called it a steep and said discourages investments in the fledgling sector. He has written to Finance Minister to promote eco-friendly EV vehicles. He has highlighted towards the importance of transition to electric mobility through local manufacturing. Former Karnataka Industries Minister R V Deshpande too had asked the Centre to reduce GST on hybrid vehicles during his term.
