The Delhi Government had sent notices to 5,584 companies for not filing GST returns and 36 similar notices to those who failed to have filed VAT returns.Since January 2020, the Delhi Government had collected around ₹3,777 crore in taxes, as against ₹5,792 crore in the corresponding period (January – July) the previous year. Manish Sisodia had informed that around 935 companies under e-commerce, insurance and financial services sectors have paid no tax for the first quarter (April – June) of the 2020-21 financial year,as many as 2,017 have paid less than 50% of what they had in the first quarter of the previous financial year (2019-20). The Government is also looking for those taxpayers who have evaded tax payments and analysing the tax profiles.
