Odisha: Lockdown may further affect state’s revenue

Lockdown for 14 days in four major districts namely Ganjam, Khurda, Cuttack and Jajpur as well as might impact the state’s revenue collection that has already recorded 23 per cent fall in the first three months (April-June) of the current fiscal. Due to major commercial establishments shut down, GST might be affected and due to increase in sale prices, VAT would be affected. Officials expect a fall of around 40 percent in GST collection.
