The government may call a special parliament session for GST related bills.

Today is the last day of the Winter Session of Parliament and both opposition and government do not seem to have found a way beyond mutual blame game. With the imminent total washout of the Winter Session in sight, the government is now mulling to call a special short session of Parliament to discuss Central GST and Integrated GST Bills, accordingΒ to a report in The Indian Express.

The report said the government may call a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) on Friday to discuss ways of getting these important bills passed in Parliament. However, the government has decided against extending the ongoing session. During the CCPA meet to be chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh may also consider calling an early budget session of Parliament as the government plans to advance budget presentation to February 1 and complete the allocation by March 31.
