The state of Maharashtra has only netted only Rs 11,000 crore in the month of April. This amount is half of the state’s April 2019 revenue of Rs 22,000 crore. Out of Rs.11,000, the state had already spent Rs.5,000 on preventive measures taken to fight COVID-19 impact. The state had requested for a special package of revenue through goods and services tax (GST), value added tax (VAT), stamp duty, excise, and vehicle tax, among others.
