The State GST Department has observed gradual improvement in income in the past four months.In June, 2020, there was improvement in the SGST collection which fell by just 5% compared to June 2019. According to GST official, GST revenue is increasing with the businesses picking up. As per GST department’s data, the net GST revenue in April 2019 and May 2019 was Rs 2,882 crore and Rs 2,510 crore respectively. Chief Commissioner of State Tax, J P Gupta said, “Because ofcoronavirus businesses were down, which had an impact on theon the GST income too. Therefore, we had extended the payment periodbut now the situation is improving.”
