On 1st August, 2020 a press release was issued that mentioned that the gross GST revenue collected for July 2020 was ₹ 87.4 thousand crores. With Unlock 2.0 effective from 1st July, 2020, more economic and business activities began. However, the gross collection in June’2020 was 9% less than the month of June’2019 despite collection of GST arrears. As per data available on GST portal, the Gross GST Collection i.e. CGST, SGST, IGST (inclusive of GST on Import of Goods) & Cess, for March’20 was ₹ 96.7 thousand crores.
