An official from GST administration said that CGST Department need to be cautious since fraud related to fake input tax credit are happening. Deputy commissioner, north, CGST Naveen Rana said”Blocking of ITC is done after substantial verification. The amount of fraud happening in GST is crucial for the department to take a cautious approach”. In many cases, suppliers of inputs are ‘non-existent’. He further said that affected party should approach department to know the exact reason for ITC getting blocked.
