GST Council may set up GoM on compensation shortfall

The GST Council might set up group of Ministers (GoM) to resolve the issue of GST Compensation. A third option has emerged which proposes that they make such borrowings jointly, rather than states taking on the entire burden. Punjab, Kerala and Chhattisgarh have demanded to set up GoM. Some states such as Uttar Pradesh have suggested revenue augmentation measures, including raising cess on gutka, he said.
