The limited implementation of e-invoicing system for companies of turnover with Rs.500crore or more might not serve the purpose of central government. Introduction of ERPs would result in elimination of multiple reporting by taxpayer in different formats. The problem in this e-invoicing system could be that vendors of these companies might be small ones an such vendors may not implement it in the first phase, and hence the desired result of pre-filled sales and purchase returns may not be achieved.
