Edition: September 2025
Disclaimer: This manual is prepared for educational and compliance facilitation purposes. It does not substitute the provisions of law, notifications, or circulars issued by the Government. Readers are advised to refer to the original statutory provisions wherever required.

✍️ Preface

FORM GSTR-9A is the annual return for composition taxpayers. It consolidates outward supplies, inward supplies, taxes paid, demands, refunds, and ITC reversals/availment for the financial year.

To support small taxpayers under composition, GSTN provides the GSTR-9A Offline Utility (Excel-based). It allows preparation of data (Tables 6–16), validation, and generation of JSON file for upload to GST Portal.

This manual integrates the law, purpose, filing steps, FAQs with statutory basis, and a compliance checklist for practitioners.
